Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Studio Blindspot Inc. (trading as "Blindspot Games") uses on thehexadome.com (the "Website"), why we use them, and how you can manage your choices. It complements the Privacy Policy.

Scope: analytics and advertising cookies are not loaded site-wide. They are loaded only on specific marketing landing pages where a cookie consent banner is shown. At the date of this policy that scope is limited to /l/tournaments. Other pages of the Website set only strictly necessary cookies (authentication and session security) and do not require a banner. If we deploy tracking on additional pages, this policy will be updated.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser and store information about your visit. Similar technologies (such as localStorage, sessionStorage, web beacons, pixels, and software development kits) can serve the same purpose; in this policy the word "cookies" refers to all of them unless we say otherwise.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party (set by the Website itself) or third-party (set by another domain loaded from the Website, for example an analytics provider).
  • Session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (kept for a defined period).

2. Categories of cookies we use

2.1 Strictly necessary

These cookies are required either to operate the Website or to provide a service you have explicitly requested. They cover authentication, session security (CSRF protection), and storage of your privacy choices. Authentication and CSRF cookies cannot be turned off because the corresponding features would stop working; the consent-storage cookie is set only to remember the choice you made about other categories so that we do not ask you again at every visit. None of these cookies require your consent under EU/UK law.

2.2 Analytics

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Website (which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, how often the site is used) so we can improve it. Analytics that rely on cookies or similar identifiers are set only with your consent in regions where consent is required.

2.3 Marketing and advertising

These cookies are set by advertising partners (such as Google Ads or X/Twitter) to measure the performance of advertising campaigns, build audiences, and deliver more relevant ads. They are set only with your consent.

3. Cookies and similar technologies we use

The tables below list the main cookies and similar technologies we currently deploy through our Google Tag Manager container, grouped by category. Default durations published by the provider are shown; actual lifetimes depend on the provider's configuration and the jurisdiction where the user is located. Analytics and marketing cookies are loaded only on the marketing landing pages listed in the scope notice above. You can review and change your choices at any time by visiting one of those pages and opening "Cookie preferences" from the consent banner.

Additional vendors that may be configured in our Tag Manager container. The Google Tag Manager container we load on marketing landing pages is configured by our team and can include tags for third-party vendors beyond Google, such as X (Twitter), Meta (Facebook), Reddit, TikTok, or LinkedIn. Any such tag fires only when the corresponding category (typically marketing) has been accepted. If a vendor is actively used in production, the table below is updated to list its cookies. If you would like the exhaustive snapshot of tags currently configured in our container, contact legal@blindspot-games.com.

3.1 Strictly necessary

Name Provider Purpose Duration
UserAuth thehexadome.com (first-party) Keeps you signed in to your HexaDome account. HttpOnly, Secure. 30 days (sliding)
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.* thehexadome.com (first-party) Protects forms against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks. Session
cc_cookie thehexadome.com (first-party, on marketing landing pages only) Stores your cookie consent choices so we do not ask again at every visit. Up to 6 months

3.2 Analytics

Name Provider Purpose Duration
_ga, _ga_* Google (Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager) Distinguishes unique users and measures aggregate audience. 2 years (Google default)
_gid Google (Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager) Distinguishes users for a single day's session. 24 hours

3.3 Marketing

Name Provider Purpose Duration
_gcl_* Google (Google Ads conversion linker) Links ad clicks to conversions on the Website. 90 days
IDE Google (DoubleClick / Google Ads) Supports conversion measurement and remarketing. 13 months in the EEA, UK and Switzerland; up to 24 months elsewhere

Note on the X/Twitter event triggers: the Website source code contains twq('event', ...) calls on certain interactions. These calls only fire if an X (Twitter) pixel is loaded by our Tag Manager container after marketing consent has been accepted. If no such pixel is configured at the time, the calls are no-ops and no pixel cookies are set.

4. Your choices and consent

On marketing landing pages where analytics and advertising cookies may be set (see Section 1 - "Scope"), a consent banner is shown on your first visit. Until you make a choice, every category that is not strictly necessary stays denied through Google Consent Mode v2: no analytics or advertising cookies are written and no persistent identifiers are stored on your device. Google may still receive limited cookieless signals (page URL, referrer, browser type, timestamp and current consent state) to support consent modelling; these signals are not associated with a Google user ID. From the banner you can:

  • Accept all optional cookies.
  • Reject all optional cookies (only strictly necessary cookies will then be used).
  • Choose by category through the preference centre.

You can change your choices at any time by revisiting one of the marketing landing pages listed in Section 1 and clicking Cookie preferences in the consent banner. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings: block third-party cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified before cookies are set. Instructions vary by browser:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Website, including authentication.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a legacy "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry consensus on how to interpret this signal and most websites ignore it; we currently do the same. We honour the choices you make through the cookie banner and the preference centre instead.

Some browsers also send a "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signal. GPC is recognised by certain US state privacy laws (notably the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act) as a valid opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information. If you are located in a jurisdiction where GPC is legally binding and you send a GPC signal, we will treat it as an opt-out of any sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. GPC is not currently recognised as a legally binding consent mechanism under EU/UK law, where explicit consent through the banner is required.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our cookie usage evolves or as the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes we will ask for your consent again where required.
